Ok I literally had a very hard time reading this book in the first chapter the 2nd paragraph the sentence is grammatically incorrect. It bothered me but I thought ok one mistake I'll look over it. Turned the page and another and another and another. Words are left out of sentences, incomplete thoughts and no direction. It feels like this book was the brain storm and the final will never come. NO HELP AT ALL! DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK. AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL!!! I wish i could return it! No way it was a "No.1 best seller", on what list?!
I have already read this book twice. I am a grandparent and wish I would have had this book when raising my two boys. As always, Denny Strecker has done an absolutely fabulous job.This book has so many wise and educated ideas that really work. I wish every parent at our school had one of these books. My grandson has even started reading the book.
I think all the 5 star reviews must know the author personally because I don't understand how anyone could think this book is good. It's very hard to read even just the first page of the first chapter. It reads like a bad translation and it makes me strongly doubt the effectiveness of the advice the book gives.
Great read whether dealing with children or grandchildren. Everyone wants their loved ones filled with self confidence. Excited to apply in own life.

This is the biggest rip off book I have ever bought! HA!! I can't believe I fell for this book - I so wanted it to be amazing that I paid no attention to the fact that the "No. 1 Bestseller" badge has no source. There is no information in this book, and the grammar is really bad. I'm pretty sure it's one of the many fake author books from China that use a translator and google to put something together. Some examples for the uselessness of this book: Chapter 1. Teach don't just expect (example - teach your kid how to make their bed - no details, just teach them to make their bed if they don't know how). There's also an assignment for each chapter. Chapter one's assignment? Make their bed! Verbatim assignment from the book: "Week 1 - Make the bed and have your child. Week 2 - Make the bed by having your child tell you what to do step by step. Week 3- Watch your child make the bed. Week 4 - Have your child make the bed and have you check it when they believe it is done correctly. (This chapter's assignment is the most detail you will get in this, book by the way). Chapter 2 - How to make friends - Step 1. Look the person in eye. Step 2. Smile! 3. Step 3 - Shake with your right hand. Step 4 - Introduce yourself. Step 5 - Listen and repeat! There is no other information or 'depth' on teaching your kids how to make friends (what happens if they don't want to be friends etc.. no scenarios, nothing...). Assignment for chapter 2? Yep, you guessed it - to "Introduce themselves to people!? Then there is the: "Advanced lesson: after your child is able to perform this skill really well, ask them questions about the person they met later on that day. You can ask things like: "what was their name?" "where did you meet them?" "what color jacket did they have on?... again, no other details...I essentially gave you the first two chapters right there. Just read the Table of Contents, and that's the meat of the book. I don't want to spend another second of my life on this book. I wish I could sue this bogus author for my money back, plus a free massage and pedicure for the annoyance factor of this ridiculous book. Example of the awful grammar (this is one of the first paragraphs of chapter one - there is no detail of who 'their' is, it's just strange grammar that doesn't fit): "As a parent, you need to teach their child how to doing anything, you can't just expect them to do it." RUN...read the phonebook...read ANYTHING but this pile of junk.
