This book went beyond my expectations! I had hoped for an amusing story with some cute illustrations, but this book fulfilled much more than that. The story was intriguing and contained a moral about honesty, well presented so that even young children will understand. The rhyming lines flowed and made their point without any ill-contrived nonsense. The illustrations are the best I've ever seen! Each page made me smile and drew me with joy and wonder to the next page. I am so happy to have discovered such a talented author! I recommend this book very highly!
Written by Yossi Lapid, Snowman Paul at the Winter Olympics is a great children’s book about winter sports and truthfulness. Paul, a snowman, plans on winning gold at the Winter Olympics. His friend advices him better not to go. Paul goes, and to his friend’s surprise wins in all the sports he participates. Is Paul being truly honest about his abilities?The color palette and the illustrations of this book are lovely, funny, and all about winter. Paul is shown competing in several winter sports, including ski-jumping, speed-skating, and curling. The story is told in rhyme, which makes it more interesting for little kids. Also, the story has a lesson about truthfulness. It teaches the children is not okay to cheat.I recommend this book to parents, educators, and children who are into sports, particularly winter sports. The book is also an excellent choice to teach children about the importance of fair sportsmanship.
I liked the fact that Paul had so much confidence in that he could win the gold and then when his friend, the boy said you were cheating because his friends, ice, wind etc. seemed to be helping him to win each area that he participated in and finally came to admit this and handed back the gold to the judges was teaching young kids 3-8 that it's best to be honest and not cheat. This is a sweet story about a Snowman living the dream, but how did he do it? This book had a great lesson about being honest in word and in deed. My kids enjoyed the story. I felt like the rhymes were more forced compared to other books in the series. Overall, a cute story with a lesson and amazing illustrations.
I showed the ebook to my husband who said he wished he had thought of it! This is a darling story and approach to telling the truth and being honest led by the child. Snowman Paul is just so good at winter sports, but why? No, he does not take steroids. Just clever!
My nephew Aiden loved the book very much. He told me that it is bad to cheat and you do not have to be number one in everything. A valuable lesson for a child.
Cute winter story about a Snowman wanting to be at the Winter Olympics. It does a good job at showing what to do if you do something wrong.
I loved the illustrations and the story. Looking forward to sharing with the grandkids.Looking forward to more stories with Snowman Paul
