JD Hall is lead pastor of Fellowship Baptist Church in Sidney, Montana. JD holds a BA in Religious Education from Williams Baptist College and M.A. from Arkansas State University. JD has been married for eleven years to Mandy, who teaches their three children at home. He is a columnist for the Intermountain Christian News, Weekend Worldview, and other publications. He’s also the author of children’s book “Help, Mom! If you are thinking of buying this book but not sure, stop thinking and start buying. It is well worth the money for the content and Biblical truth. JD Hall, with the help of others, is trying to bring about a modern day reformation which begins with the inspired word of God and our knowing and applying it to our lives. It begins with a call for repentance and a renewed commitment to God-centered Theology and sound preaching among Baptist preachers. It includes the 1689 London Baptist Confession of faith (slightly revised by Charles Spurgeon), the actual Catechism, with Scriptures, and ends with "A Modern Day Downgrade", which should be read by every pastor in America. It also has plenty of quotes from some of today's greatest servant's of Christ and some from the giants of old. The entire book is practical enough for the average lay person and theologically rich enough for pastors leading churches and men leading families. Thank you Mr. Hall for the time and effort you put into this Catechism that will edify God's people and bring glory to his name. Soli Deo Gloria and Semper Reformanda.
This is a great catechism based on the 1689 London Baptist Confession. Our family uses it every Sunday for our family worship time. I love that it has not only the confession and catechism, but also great quotes from well known pastors that help give more insight.
I just started this with my kids, I think it is wonderful. I love that I have guidance in teaching them the foundations of our faith. This process will help my entire family to memorize the truth, not just express our "feelings" about God, but to make statements that are true and honor Him. To be prepared to tell others when the opportunity arises and to KNOW what we stand on. This book is put together well and easy to follow for us newbies who are not quite sure how to teach our children the doctrines of God.
