Overall good book but was very disappointed in authors failure to give credit to Eisenhower's extensive legislation in civil rights that was blocked by then Senate majority leader, LB Johnson.Eisenhower successfully pushed legislation through the Congress and signed into law racial desegregation of public schools. The author only credits Eisenhower with sending the national guard to Arkansas to protect black students rights while ignoring his tremendous focus civil rights that represented minorities especially in the South. It makes me wonder what else he missed in other Presidential achievements. The author seems to favor Democrats or else only found resources written by Democrats. Otherwise a good book. Reader needs to remember that there are opinions other than the authors. Wish he had stuck to the facts or included opinions from both sides. I like that he includes the wives of the presidents and other historical figures that were pertinent to the various eras of each President. I recommend the book, with caution that some information may not be completely accurate.

A lot of information about each President. This book goes deep into all aspects of our Presidents lives, both politically and personal. The only drawback would be some of the details are repeated from President to President. Otherwise a great read !

I love this book. I am a 38 year old female who loves American history. It goes beyond the basic facts on the presidents. The only things that I don't like: 1) There are quite a bit of spelling and grammar errors. I overlook them because I love the book so. 2) I think the authors could have done a better job on the chapter about President elect Donald Trump. There should have been a section devoted to First Lady to be Melania Trump, as each of the other First Ladies had sections on them. Otherwise, a great book. Tv informative.

I purchased this, along with The Greatest Presidential Stories Never Told, for my 15 year old granddaughter. She loves it.

This book is very good up until the modern era. Starting with Reagan, the authors political bias begins to show through. At the end of the book, it was the all too typical left leaning commentary of Bush bashing and Obama love fest. For example, the fact that Bush's protective actions after 9/11, regardless of whether one agrees with them, resulted in no terrorist attacks on American soil for the following 7 years was completely left out. On the other hand, the Obama account never mentions Benghazi, the addition of $10T to the national debt, or the fact that his was the 1st Attorney General in the history of the US to be held in contempt of Congress. Those pertinent historical facts were not deemed as important as a glowing description of Michelle Obama at an Inaugural Ball wearing a "..one-shouldered gown by Jason Wu, a twenty-six-year-old designer who immigrated to the United States from Taiwan." It was almost like the staff at MSNBC wrote the last two chapters of the book. Read the book up through Jimmy Carter and then look for other less biased accounts of the last 5 presidents.

Very well written and interesting facts about each U.S. President of the United States and what was happening during their term.

I ultimately gave this book a high rating because it gives an overview of the presidency and how it evolved over time. To understand American History is to understand the American Presidency from George Washington to Donald J. Trump

Informative but difficult to read because of the quality of the paper and small print.
