First, I am someone who is very interested in improving myself and becoming the best father, husband and man I can be. There are some areas where I was already strong and some areas where I felt I was weak. I bought this book because I have gotten to know and admire Warren through a few interactions on Facebook and an interview for my podcast. But I wasn't sure if it was the right book for me or if it would make a difference. But I tried to keep an open mind and am happy I read it because this book is great and most certainly had an impact on me and I highly recommend it to any man who aspires to improve himself and become a better husband, father and friend.This book is bold and if you pause and give the questions and statements some time, it will really make you think about your life, how you are living and where you are going. If you are a man (especially a husband and father) who wants to improve but feels like something is missing, this book will help you figure those things out. Warren addresses every area of life in bite-sized pieces so that you can easily digest them one chapter at a time. In fact I love the short chapters, as it made it easier to read a couple chapters each morning, highlight parts and make notes. And then take action.So what did this book do for me? It made me think about my vision for the future and how I'm leading my family. It made me think about whether I am meeting my wife's expectations as a husband and inspired me to take action by having more meaningful conversations with my wife about our life and future. If you are a husband and father who strives for a life of significance, I highly recommend this book.One important note: Warren is clearly a Christian man of devout faith. He mentions God many times in this book but not in an overbearing way. I am not a Christian but this did not bother me at all. This book should be mandatory for every man that wants to get better. I usually read lots of self development books related to sales, marketing, behavioral psychology so this was a new topic for me. I really enjoyed Becoming a Significant man and wish I would have read it early in my life! We often spend too much time planning our vacations but no time planning our life, too much time planning our wedding but no time planning our marriage.. The author put things into perspective and help you plan and focus on the priorities and essential things in your life that you need to become and significant man.
Since reading this book it has opened my eyes to many things about being a man and some of the mistakes I’ve been making. As men we get caught in on head not realizing the pain we are putting ourselves through. This book will give perspective on many different things to become a more significant man.
This book really hit home. I always thought my wife was the problem, always waiting on her to change but now I know it was me that has to change. I've always wanted to be a strong leader for my family and didn't know I had it in me. Thanks for taking the time to write this book Warren this is exactly what I needed at this time.
Excellent book with great perspective on any marriage. Some of the material was a bit religious for my taste but I get it... It tied in alot with mine and my wife's therapy sessions together. Probably the best $12-13 I've ever spent though, definitely worth a shot if you're wanting to learn a bit about yourself and you want to learn something about yourself.
