These 3 long stories and 1 short story were every thing you want in a western, Cherokee Parks writes a thrilling stories. His character Colt Raines reminds me of Smoke Jensen and Ben Raines created by Bill Johnstone this book is worth the purchase
I loved the book . Want to read more of the series. Sure hope there is more.
All the stories regarding Colt Raines and the others with him did a good job of taking care of the worst of the outlaws and making them pay for what they did. This was a good series.
I enjoyed riding along with Colt on his adventures. I like a man of few words as I tend to keep my own council myself. I, too, believe in revenge. I think it’s justified as few killers or miscreants get what’s coming to them, the Courts being what they are today. If a person tells me he intends to do me harm, I believe him and act accordingly. There is no limit to human deprivation. I grew up in rural Kentucky, born in 1940 in a log cabin, built by my Great Grandfather. I learned about guns and hunting at an early age. My Mother’s Parents raised me. My Grandfather was a quiet man, a Coal miner who was respected for his word as well as his strength. I was an expert shot with rifle and pistol and became a Police Officer, a career Professional Soldier, serving in the Vietnam War. I have always carried a gun as I don’t belief in the kindness of my fellow man. I have a few friends who are special people to me. I am extremely select full of whom I chose to allow in my circle. I know many people. Seem to be well liked but most people are shallow and never really see what’s in front of them. I enjoy Westerns as they portray hard men living in hard times. I admire men who can be counted on to be able toâ€Ride the River Withâ€. Colt is such a man. Follow his adventures if you will. He’s the kind of man you will hope you are or wish you were!

The name of his mule changed from Jethro to Roscoe back to Jethro between the different books. There were many misspellings also (toed instead of tied is one example). As I said the books were good just need better proofreading.
I have enjoyed other novels by this outstanding author, but regardless how great they were they do not compare to these three wonderful masterpieces of our old American folklore adventures. I am sure all previous stories were awarded five stars, and these very descriptive heartwarming stories are five stars worthy! There are several heartwarming adventures scattered throughout these stories and the camaraderie of the good guys was what assured there man great successful accomplishments! Mr. Parks went above and beyond Guantanamo selection characters as well as his infamous storylines from beginning to the final paragraph. Colt is my mind of western hero, as he believes in justice not necessarily good law enforcement. He is fast to take control of an situation, and has no qualms in what his final decision might entail. Some may disagree, but I find these stories to be more factual frontier justice than most books may reveal and they are definitely entertaining representations of what is right or wrong. Too, I, without hesitation, recommend these compelling stories, as they are definitely representative of our old American western folklore adventures. Too, if you love fast moving episodes of realistic gunfights, romance and ongoing excursions of western accomplishments, then you have definitely found what your heart desires. Colt, and his compadres will definitely create enough excitement to pacify your most demanding desires, and their accomplishments never ceases to fulfill your utmost desires. Do Not Miss These Outstanding Western Stories!
