I have truly enjoyed every content of this book including the illustrations that were provided, I have gained a deeper insight of the era's from the beginning in the garden of Eden to the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.If we want to share in the gospel we definitely ought to know what we are expressing that's why we must study to show ourselves to be approved.
This book is amazing! it's not so much the book, but the Truth in the book and how the author presents it. Every true believer/follower of Jesus would Greatly benefit in studying the truth revealed written in this book....out of all the books i have thru the years on all subjects, this book would be enough to study the Word of God together. another words, if you have the Bible and this book...you don't need too many other books; the graphs and teachings will blow you away and reveal just how Awesome the wisdom of God is!
This book is an excellent book to read in addition to the Bible. If you have some knowledge of the Bible you will find this book offers some additional insight that is not in other commentaries. This author is an inspiration to me to dig deeper in the word of God. Because it is written in 1929 do not let that cause you to think it is old school and outdated. It is not! I am still reading it as it is too much information to ingest in a couple days. The book starts off with an explanation that the Bible was written "for all classes of people and for our learning" and the Bible is not addressed to all people in general. Part of the Bible is to addressed to the Jews, Gentiles and to the Church which consititute the three classes. Mr. Larkin gives his explanation of the ages and dispensations. He continues on to explain the age of the earth that in Gen 1:3-31 was the restoration of the earth to its original condition before it was made "formless and void" and submerged in water and darkness and how there is millenniums of time that science may require for the formation of the earth as a planet. His teachings throughout the book are thought-provoking and shed some light on questions I have had such as election and free-will, Heaven and Hell, Judiaism and Christianity. It is 328 pages of Biblical explanations and charts. I definitely find this a must read.
This book was a requirement to be read when I was in bible college 20 off years ago. I lent my book before I finish reading it and never got it back. I didn't get to finish reading this book. I was so happy to find on Amazon e-book. It was a world of knowledge and truth and was hard to put down till I finished reading.
Excellent bible study, will definitely increase your Bible knowledge.
If you ever wondered if you could understand the bible then look no farther! I would recommend Clarence Larkin to any and all. The bible should and can be understood by everyone and Mr. Larkin helps with any doubts about that!
This is an excellent book! I had never heard of Clarence Larkin before but I am so grateful someone suggested his writings to me.. if you truly believe in Rightly dividing the word, this is a wonderful book and I would highly recommend it to anyoneWho is a student of the Bible.
At times repetitive but always enlightening. Written long ago Mr Larkin speaks to the immutable truth of The Word. The depth of his knowledge shed light on many issues I had previously not fully understood.
